Road leading to carpark is ok for the first 3km, the remaining is not for the faint hearted as very rough and rutted due to rainfall I assume. Your vehicle needs to have good ground clearance as ours had
Upon arriving in parking area there are signs of neglect
Undeterred we proceeded (on foot of course) via the path, in a short distance you come to a wooden footbridge over the river, again not for the faint hearted as lots of loose boards to negotiate but we did it
As you continue along it became more obvious that no maintenance has been carried out for many years as lots of the handrails were broken so nothing to hold on to, not advisable for people with disabilities or young kids
When we arrived at the waterfall (approximately 15min) was disappointed as not as spectacular as advertised
Yes there is a waterfall but very underwhelming

Nice waterfall, the water not too cold so we could freshen up
The road is quite bad towards the end so we left the car approx 600 meters before and walked from there.

This is a hidden gem. I didn’t gave 5 stars because it wasn’t very easy tot get there with small children.
But after we arrived there the kids were impressed about the natural place and about the view. They saw crabs and small fish. You can put your feet on the water for a small refresh.

if you are in the area and feel like taking a break from the beach for a couple of hours, this is a perfect option!
there are actually 3 falls and once you get to the starting point, the walks are through a magical place- you hear birds singing and butterlies fly around.
we went with our son - 4 at the time and told him stories about the Greek Gods and fairies.

it was a memorable experience, with adrenaline due to the road and the bumps that accompanied us all along the way but in the end it was worth all the effort

The owner of the apartment where we were staying took us up to Varvara Waterfalls, having a 4x4 we didn't have the long walk one would have using a normal car. Well worth seeing and not difficult to access a very quick paddle in the water then out, it was cold. Lovely to see and not very busy.

The road is difficult to find because google maps takes you at some point out of the main road, but you have to keep going and not exit the road on the right. We left the main road and end up at the entrance of a stone quarry and the guy there gaved us a printed map with some indications. Back in the main road, after 4 km you will find on the left a wood sign, very little visible due to the greenery (photo), and on the right a miniature church (photo). On this dirt road on the right you will have to go another 4 km.
There are 2 waterfalls, 2 separate ways accessible by foot, not a very easy path but
it was worth the effort. We were not very well prepared for this and were ther with a 4 year old boy, but we made it and loved the experience. The pictures don't really show the beauty of this place.

Ok this is not for the unfit, as someone who isn't in the middle of the day it was hard work. We finally found the road after 3 attempts, not always easy, so a few of the photos show the signposting and they aren't brilliant.
Other posters have mentioned the road quality. It is around 3.5 km to the falls car park. The first 2.5 km lull you into a false sense of security, no, it isn't metalled but it is passable in your average family car.
Then it becomes tricky, the terrain is darned right tough going and my advice is to slow right down unless you are in a 4x4 (SUV) otherwise you will ground the car and possibly rip either your exhaust pipe (silencer) or your petrol (gas) tank off. Once you have that next 0.5 km out of the way, its a cautionary journey down. Take your time, enjoy the views
The car park points in the direction of waterfall 1 down stream or waterfall 2 upstream. The map tells you approximate distances... either they are lying or the Greek kilometre is the same as a country mile in the UK. No they are not as close as they would like to think. However the climb and I say that without any exaggeration is variable but pleasant, however, this is not for people with mobility issues, people in flip flops like the idiot reviewer, or people who cannot control their children. There are some steep steps and some very steep edges leading to long falls even though there is a hand rail. Do not rely on them entirely, not all are secure. However, once you manage to get there, you will be afforded an incredibly view of crystal clear and deliciously clean water cascading over the high rocks into a small pool. Take your time, get your breath and just enjoy the tranquility. After heading back to the ca park you make your way down to the bottom waterfall... or do you?
My advice is, that unless your ancestry includes a mountain goat , an Everest climber, or you are into extreme walking, avoid. Whilst it may be beautiful, I am not sure that I wanted to die there even if it did seem like paradise. To get down there, you carry on past the car park along the path downwards. The path appears to terminate at the top of the fall, and if I was slightly more intelligent, that is where I should have stopped. However, having what appears to be the IQ of the average goldfish, I crossed the stream and continued, or should I say heaved myself up the other side, The wire netting to hold the fencing in place, doesn't really fill you with any great confidence, nor should it do when you consider that the path has been generously eaten away by the rains. I caught a glimpse of the falls to my left, and was going to head down, when discretion got the better part of valour, when I realised that flip flops were not going to protect my feet from the last half of the journey, but from I could see, it looked impressive
Would I do it again, possibly with better footwear? Maybe, but I tend to be a been there done that bought the t shirt kind of person, so on reflection go once, with good footwear, early in the morning or late afternoon, but no so late that is dark by the time you plan heading back
