We had an amazing tour at Caseificio Bio Reggiani. Attila was a great tour guide and was very friendly and answered all our questions. It was very interesting to see al the different parts of the cheese production.
Afterwards, we got to try some of the various aged versions of the Parmesan, and some wine as well. There is a small shop on site as well if you want to buy anything.

This was a 2 hour round trip for us but definitely worth doing. You have to go for the 8.00 or 9.00 AM tours to see the staff actually producing the cheese but they alert you to this when you book.
The process is fascinating and our English guides Andreas was in good humour and an excellent guide for the hour or so it took.
Finished with a nice few samples of ricotta and various aged Parmesan to try side by side.
The shop too is where you can buy regional products as well as their cheese. The still warm ricotta is outrageous, thinking we made a.mistake only buying a kilo of it 🤣

Best food tour we have ever done! We saw everything from the cows to final production. I recommend doing the 8AM or 9AM tours so you can see the workers actually working. There was a wonderful tasting at the end. Highly recommend and great tour for younger kids as well!

I booked directly with this dairy farm to tour their facilities. I highly recommend a tour at 9am in order to see cheese production in progress. My guide Rita was very knowledgeable and helped me to understand this amazing slow food. I had the fortune have being the only person in my tour, so everything was very casual.
This was the larger of the two farms I visited. You're able to see the cows (and the bulls and their many babies). From there we went to the production facilities and learned the process of creating the cheese, to salting and aging. I was able to play inspector and tap various cheese wheels in order to better understand quality.
The tasting at the end was fantastic! The spread I was given was impressive and I have given 3 ages of parm to taste, as well as freshly made ricotta cheese (like no ricotta you've ever tried before) and various accompaniments to the cheese.
For US visitors, I highly, highly recommend you buy as much cheese as you can from their store. It's vacuum packed and with cool temps, I was able to keep them for a week without refrigeration and bring them home to enjoy. They offer many ages, which are actually a bit challenging to find in other places. I truly regret not having bought more to bring home!

We certainly appreciate Parmigiano Reggiano more after this tour and were astounded at some of the facts and details we learnt about how the cheese is made and how the cows are fed and milked to ensure the best quality product.
When the doors to the room holding the cheese are opened, its mind blowing to see 16,000 wheels of cheese before your eyes!
The tour went through every step in the production and finished with a tasting opportunity with no pressure to buy. The shop is equipped with many local delights as well as the cheese to purchase if you would like. Our guide had been on the job for only a week and you wouldn't know it as he was very knowledgeable and engaging.
We drove ourselves to the location so it would be great for it to be a bit better sign posted from the turn off as those local streets can be tricky!

What an awesome visit! We met the cows, saw the cheese made from start to finish, witnessed a wheel of cheese being cut the old-fashioned way and tasted the most delicious wheel of aged parmesano reggiano. Theresa, the owner, was gracious, generous and informative. This was out of the way for our group as we were staying in Tuscany but well worth the trip!
