If you have an interest in 1939 to 1945 and how this area was involved I strongly recommend this one.

The sadness, fear and desperation of this areas population and the allied forces commitment is documented well via amazing pictures and video. Personally it affected me as I had family involvement pre my time so knew a lot before learning more on visiting

Operation Avalanche Museum is at
via San Antonio 5 Eboli. In Salerno
get 17 bus towards Univ Fisciana then train IC701 towards Taranto then walk/taxi for 1.6km to Museum Very easy.
Thus is a unique insight into the very high human cost of the War. Fantastic photos and 3D film.

My daughter and I were traveling in Italy and had an afternoon free in Eboli. We were told by our Airbnb host that we were within walking distance to the MOA. We decided to go there and were so glad we did. We were the only ones there and had a private tour! I had no idea this invasion was the second largest in WWII -- only after the invasion at Normandy. So much history -- the artifacts, photographs and movie were fascinating. The museum is a large, old building so you feel like you are stepping back in time.

Visited the Museum Of Avalanche that explain in detail the invasion of Salerno during World War 11. The armament , pictures, uniforms and movie is outstanding. Louigi Nobile was outstanding in explaining all aspects of this particular battle during World War 11. A must see for all.

This is my second visit to MOand our friends and family agree that this museum should be seen by all. It shows many views of World War II from all sides involved in the conflict. Our guide, Luigi Nobile, was so knowledgeable and the video clearly depicted the suffering that all sides endured.

Such an interesting place! So many photos that have possibly never been seen beyond Italy. So interesting to see and gain a little understanding into what sadly happened to this historic town of Eboli whilst staying there. This is one of those museums with appeal to those who study 'world conflicts' and it certainly gave me a visual update with its photos, uniforms, etc. A must see for travellers who venture beyond the glitz of famous cities!

This museum offers an unbiased profile of local battles in the 2nd world war and contains information and artefacts from the allies, German and Italian forces. The photography is truly moving with descriptions in English. The museum director guided us through the installations and gave us a great insight into the impact the war had on the local region. Take time to visit Eboli and see this thoughtful museum. Have drink at the bar and chat with the friendly locals. They often have bands and other displays in this unique building which are also worth travelling for.

Our family's visit to this museum showed us so many vivid images of World War II. It gave us a clear picture of the impact the war had on the military as well as civilians. Our guide, Luigi Nobile, was so knowledgable and his explanations really helped us understand the history of the war. The video was outstanding and emotional and brought me to tears picturing my Uncle Lawrence and his military buddies enduring the many hardships they encountered. A visit to Old Town Eboli and this museum would be worthwhile for veterans and their families as well as those of us who want to understand what happened in World War II, It is near Salerno and could be added to a visit there.
