Nice and interesting, but the hike was more than some of your older friends could support, but was not reported like this.

WOW
Sep 2019
Enjoyed our hike to the bridge and, of course, the bridge itself. The whole trip there and back takes about three hours (comfortably). The cable car runs every 15 minutes - $8. The only issue is parking - if you drive yourself there. I didn't try it myself, but the restaurant at the beginning of the hike looks like a great place to relax after your hike. Make sure you get up on the cable car platform when you want to come down - if no one is up there, it doesn't stop. I learned the hard way..

Wonderful hiking and views

There is only 1 cable car that seats 6-8 people (plus a couple dogs), so it is important to get your tickets ahead of time so that you don't have to wait too long for the trip up. Also, be sure that the person who gives you directions to get to the trailhead/cable car station REALLY knows exactly where to go so you don't miss the stop if you take the bus there (or just ask the bus driver when you get on). The cable car goes all the way to the top with a stop midway, which is where the trail to the suspension bridge is. You can also hike at the top, either a short hike to a tiny lake, or the route over the mountain and into the city of Bellinzona; the latter is pretty strenuous. We saw children who had hiked to the bridge with their parents and were going down the longer but more gradual route. In addition, there is a couple who lives toward the and that has a freezer where you can buy ice cream treats for only 2 Swiss francs.

Very stable suspension bridge reached by a lovely hike
Jul 2019 • Teman
We took the teleférico up Monte Carasso, ate lunch at the top, then took the cable car halfway back down, where we began our hike to the Tibetano suspension bridge. It's nearly 900 ft. long and the most stable suspension bridge I can imagine for its size. You can either hike back to the teleférico and take it down or hike down one of 2 other ways: one shorter but much steeper, and the other longer and much more gradual.

Green walk
Okt 2018 • Keluarga
The Tibetan Bridge is anchored at a height of 696 m and it’s 270 m in length.
The fact that it’s isolated makes it for a worth experience. Definitely take good walking shoes, water and food if you are planning to take a hike, which I strongly recommend.
You can reach the bridge walking from both sides, however the most accessible way is to take the cableway Monte Carasso-Curzútt-Mornera
The bridge is very stable (it bounces depending on how you walk but you still feel it’s safe) and simetric.
We took the afternoon to walk the hill of Sementina up to the bridge, spaces were very green, clean and calm, only reason I am giving four points is that when you finally get to the bridge there is no view “per se”, it’s really just the sensation of the height above a creek, which is still impressive there is a tiny river but you don’t even see the water since it’s so narrow).

Worth the hike for the view.

A good and nice hike to the bridge. With a perfect view of a green valley, Sementina river and Bellinzona, the bridge is worth the hike up the mountain.

We found the hike up from Monte Carasso via San Bernardo easier than the other side (from San Defendente).

Please pack lunch or food for the break, as there are no options for food along the way. However, there are very good provisions made for filling your water bottles. Taps are provided along the way to make sure you don't get dehydrated in the woods.

Definitely recommend it for a sunny day-hike.

Walking across feels like an accomplishment.

I don't have vertigo but my god I could barely look down. After walking the 270 m across it certainly feels like an accomplishment. Very fun and a definite recommendation.
Really, really nice walk up to the bridge from both sides. Doesn't really matter from what side you start. We were in March so there was almost no one else there.

Harder than it says in the leaflet!
Jan 2019 • Keluarga
The walk and bridge are lovely, but the tourist flyer indicates that the walk is "easy" and "family friendly" - however once you get there the path markers indicate moderate difficulty and it is too much for either little kids or for parents to carry babies.

If you're expecting a walk which is more than a stroll and don't have any kids with you this is great. The bridge is beautiful (not for those with vertigo!) and the walk is fun through the woods and past the chapel.

So definitely go but ignore the flyer!

Scary but amazing
Okt 2018 • Keluarga
It is quite a hike to get there but there is as well a cable car...

You cannot be afraid of heights...I am. The bridge is high and tight, but very save....the family loved walking over the bridge

One can as well drive up a very small and scary road and then have a 2 km hike....is a bit easier

Impressive bridge
Agt 2018 • Sendiri
The hike to get there is pretty steep, even when taking the cablecar, but it is worth the struggle. Also don't forget to give a look at the San Bernardo cathedral on the way, great looking both inside and outside. The only snag is the size of the cablecars. It is not big enough for the number of people getting there.
