Bunker visitable only via hourly tours. Last tour of day was 17:00. I arrived in restaurant at 17:02 interested in the tour. Waitress busy setting tables had a stereotypically German "you're late so that's too bad" attitude and wasn't even friendly about it. If she could have relayed the same message in a different manner, I might have even stayed and bought food or drink. Instead, I hightailed it out of that Ostalgia spot. Looks like campus of the former military site has had a modern restaurant and a couple of modern guest houses added, and that the restaurateur is using the bunker as an attraction to bring in business. I suspect the bunker is interesting, but the thing seems more like a sleazy sideshow than a museum. I was fortunate enough to see Objekt 5001 north of Berlin before it was sealed up in 2008, and THAT was a bunker... Look up Bunker 5001, but you can't see it anymore.

My partner has very little experience of what was the old 'East' Germany so was amazed to find this exhibition seemingly in the middle of nowhere. He was amazed at the sort of stuff that had been preserved by people and it was quite an eyeopener. Unfortunately, during our visit, the weather was very poor - cold, wet and windy. The cafe was exceptional with log burning fire and hot coffee.
