This COULD be a great golfing experience, but ours wasn’t. From the moment we presented ourselves at the pro-shop we were met in a very unfriendly and actually rude manner. The lady who served us lunch was particularly morose. The food menu was shocking; like something out of a very dodgy café, with around 7 items on it. The food itself (basically sandwiches) was shocking. The golf course was challenging; no complaints about the layout itself, with lovely views on one or two holes. The greens were in ok condition but the rest was very shabby indeed. Looked like the maintenance team hadn’t been there for a while. Clear lack of investment; even the bunker rakes were on their last legs. And then there was the drinks buggy: one cool box with about 10 items in it. Such a shame. All the other clubs we played in the Algarve were magnificent. Not San Lorenzo.

I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 rounds over this course. Not only does it challenge every club in the bag, it challenges your nerve over which shot you take on. Greens were good but some maintenance work required to bring the course back to a standard on par with other local courses.
