Big Cuckoo
Jun 2021 • Keluarga
Yet another lovely Cuckoo clock. We were right on time to see it chime at 03:30PM. It chimes every 30 mins. The face of the clock is sort of hidden and so you have to pay 2€ per person to enter the clock. You see the clock mechanism inside. We were glad to meet son of Josef Dold the designer of the clock. The area around the clock is also beautiful. My 1 year old enjoyed to run around. Still wondering if this was world's largest cuckoo then why they call the "Eble Kukus Uhr" also the world's largest:)

On a walk into triberg we came across this cuckoo clock it is great going inside and the lady who works there tells you about it and gives you a mini tour. The clock chimes every 30 mins so will always have a chance to see it. Lovely little place with cute shop and surroundings

Nice to see if you pass by...
Des 2019
This cuckoo clock holds the record for the biggest cuckoo clock in the world. The directions to this specific clock is not very clear. We stopped at the building and thought the cuckoo clock we saw from the parking lot is the clock everyone spoke of until someone informed us to walk to the front of the building. It is very nice to see, but it does not have the people dancing like you associate with a traditional clock. If you happen to be in the area, you can stop, but don't change your route for it. Rather go to the life size cuckoo clock next to the house of black forest clocks in Hornberg, so much nicer.

Great confusion
Agt 2019
After spending several days in Triberg and around especially to see the Kuckuclocks, we can state that there is a big confusion with the names and locations of Kuckucloks. Names are similar and locatiosn are near to each other, but qualities are different.
We'll try to explain, to help other travellers to avoid wasting of time:
1. Weltgrosste Kuckucksuhr at Untertalstr.28, Shonahh: if short - this is a bubble. A primitive rough carving with primitive limited movements of figures. Visit is a waste of time. The main big picture on top of this article also belongs to another location;
2. Weltgrosste Kuckucksuhr Eble Uhrenpark at Schonachbach 27 (actually the picture of this location is by mistake on top of article about Untertalstr.28): this is big shop but also one can see the mechanism inside. The cuckoo and the figures are much more interesting and detailed, with much better animation;
3. House of Black Forest Clocks, Landstraße 7, 78132 Hornberg: This one has most beautiful clock with the most spectacular show of well-curved numerous figures of human and animals. Realy worth to see for children and adults!
Enjoy Schwarzwald!

Not worth at all

The black forest in Rheinland is home to cuckoo clocks. We were taken to a shop where they showed us manufacturing if cuckoo clocks. Fancy that? Well don’t actually. They hardly reveal anything, its just showing the tip of the iceberg. Plus it was too crowded with tourists so I could barely make out what he was telling, added to it my disinterest in it. Also, most importantly the clocks were exorbitantly priced, which made no sense at all. We however bought a lovely red wine from the shop though. Cuckoo shop selling red wine. Can’t laugh enough.

Awesome to see the detail

We went early on a Monday morning and there was only two small families there, while my husband and I were there. We got to talk to the owner and he told us how it was built and showed us around. The yard is huge and has a couple activities geared for kids, but adults can enjoy as well!

Intriguing short visit

Fantastic for people interested in cogs and gorgeous mechanical woodwork. 5-10mins, see the outside and inner-clockwork of this little cuckoo clock house.

Just a bit of a gimmick
Jul 2019 • Pasangan
This was one of the things we were looking forward to seeing on a day trip toTriberg however it was rather disappointing.

It’s in the opposite direct from the train station to the Town Centre and there’s really nothing else worth seeing on that side of Town.

The clock itself faces out on to a main road so when the ‘Cukoo’ actually happens it’s not easy to hear due to on ongoing traffic.

It all seems a bit of a gimmick really and trading on the Town’s history for someone to make a profit. This is done with the Souvenir shop next door which includes clocks costing up to and beyond €1,000.

If your staying in Triberg for a few days and looking for something to fill an hour then go have a look otherwise I wouldn’t bother.

Paid the 2 euros each, had a quick look inside the clock, just a clock made of ply wood. Went outside and watched the bird do its stuff. Walked around the garden, sat on a bench.
Not a must see and would not go out of my way to visit.
