A unique place.
Jul 2019 • Keluarga
Have heard so much about this place. Unique for having a floating football pitch. This is usually the pit stop for lunch during a day cruise. You walk through the island literally through people's homes. You can buy dried fish and other local fare. You get a first hand experience of how the islanders live.

OK but don't go out of your way

The island is fine to go to as part of a tour of Phang Nga Bay but otherwise not worth a special trip.

We went there as part of a tour and spent just over an hour there. 20 minutes too long.

Nice to see but also just a tourist trap with countless stalls selling similar things.

A different place
Jan 2020
As our tour guide told us this place has a unique history as it started from 3 families from Malaysia when they start to built their house over the water and after them more and more were coming through the years. This started 200 years ago and now there 360 families on the island with total 2000 people. They have their own primary school, doctor, mosque since it is a muslim community, market and even a floating stadium.
It is full of small paths to explore.
The place is used for stopover from the tours for lunch.
The only negative is that the village is slightly dirty and stinks the well known harbor smell.

stop over for lunch
Okt 2019
We stopped over here for lunch as part of the James Bond excursion. I was unsure as to what to expect as I am coeliac and though they were advised, you can never be too careful. They catered for me, basic but certainly adequate. The rest of the group's food was plentiful and looked very appetising. You obviously don't see behind the restaurants, where everybody lives, but there is a beautiful mosque that can be seen and to be honest it is fine seeing only a little bit it gives you an idea of the village

Cool place

We went on a daytrip by boat and stopped for lunch here. Thank god we had lunch before going for a stroll. It was really dirty, stinking from fish and dead something. BUT it was a really cool place, and I recommend you to go there!

Recovery days
Sep 2019 • Sendiri
Koh Panyee is the village on stilts.
Stayed at the James Bond Bungalows. Basic but clean and tidy. Not much to do other than the boat trips. At no time did the place smell! Nearly every residence among the maze of walkways has a shop or stall. Not a quiet place but nice for a couple of days recovery from busy travelling.

Muslim village on water
Jul 2019 • Pasangan
This is a must stop for Phang Nga Bay tour that includes lunch. This is a self contained village. The livelihoods of the residents have changed from fishing to tourism, There are many souvenirs shops through the village. The houses are very colorful and are built right on the water. It was interesting to have a chance to see the daily life of the residents.

Floating Football Pitch
Jun 2019 • Pasangan
Always wanted to visit this island after hearing about the floating football pitch and also with the village being on stilts.
Although the old pitch has gone and has been replaced with an up to date one, it’s still worth a visit just to experience it. The village itself is a maze and can be easy to get lost in so we stuck with the guide who showed us round after lunch there. Worth a trip to experience it especially if your on route to James Bond Island.
