It is an extraordinary place. A location that fully reflects the life and concepts of Cesar Manrique, a fantastic artist. A perfect example of the art-nature symbiosis. It captures the spirit of what Lanzarote represents.

Bear in mind, this is Casar's own home later in life. It reflects the artistic spirit of Cesar especially his studio in the grounds.

It looks just as though Cesar had stepped out for a moment - which of course he did.

It is a complete contrast to the quirky architecture he's known for.

A short tour which is controlled by the team to ensure not too many people are admitted at any one time.

An honour to see some of the personal affects which clearly meant so much to the man who was, and still is, the essence of Lanzarote.

For an insight into the personality of César Manrique, who has been of so much importance for Lanzarote, it is very worthwhile to visit the house and studio, where he lived from 1988 till 1992. It is located in the upper part of Haria, one of the three beautiful villages of Lanzarote, besides Teguise and Yaiza. The artist had transformed a farmhouse, set in a palm grove, into his home with attached studio.

Open daily as of 10.30am it has an entrance fee of 10 Euros. Photography is not allowed in the interior rooms. Cesar Manrique loved to entertain people, for whom he had a guest room, and he also enjoyed some luxury as can be seen from the round bathtub and the swimming pool with the nearby sun loungers. Everywhere are plants, often succulents so typical for the island. Most furniture and lamps were designed by the artist himself. The large studio with all the easels and paints is said to have been left as it was, when Cesar Manrique died from a car accident in 1992.

Casa Museo César Manrique is the house, where lived this artist until he died in a car accident. It is located in Haría, a little town in Lanzarote Island. The house was built by the artist, and here you can see how the terrace and rooms were decorated. Really, a very interesting place (or better, a museum of the life of the artist). Also, you can see the surroundings of the house, where you can see volcanic land. Very curious and interesting place to know how the artist lived and some of their artworks.

This is a lovely hidden treasure in Haria: Manrique's beautiful, domestic final home; go and dream of living in such a casa, with such bathrooms and garden palms! You learn a lot about the man and his ideals here, and the visit is less busy and more private than the lava house. A proper treat.

Cesar Manrique is as fascinating person. This is his second home in the island and is a real insight into his life and work, as always the architecture is breathtaking and the use of landscape so clever.

Practicalities. No designated car park, but easy parking locally, easy access and very friendly staff, small shop but nowhere to buy refreshments. A couple of toilets.

We bought a combined ticket that allowed us to also visit the Manrique Foundation for €17, which can be used within a week.

Highly recommend.

Beuatiful house of famous Lanzarote architect and artist. It is worthy to visit both his foundation and museum. We were very surprised how beautiful both these places are

A must visit place to capture some of the essence and genius of Cesar Manrique. Much more intimate than his fondation as you can feel he was really living and working here.

We bought a joint entry ticket with the Fundación and enjoyed both visits. This house was lived in by Manrique from 1988 to his death in 1992 and is far more conventional than the Fundación building. That said the house gives a good impression of the man with many personal items and some interesting artworks by Manrique and others. The architecture blends with surroundings and there is an extensive garden and you also have access to the artist´s workshop as he left it at his sudden death in a traffic accident. Less spectacular than the Fundación but still a worthwhile, interesting visit.

I didn't know about Cesar Manrique before coming to Lanzarote and I feel a lot of attraction for the sense of beauty and the way of living of this unusual and engaged man.
His Casa if for real the place he lived in and the scenography made me feel Manrique will appear at any minute.
This is a lovely house and workshop in the middle of palm trees.
I only regret there is too few pieces of art to get to know the painter in him. Surpringly, no pictures are allowed inside, whereas it's allowed outside and everywhere at the Foundation.
Worse seeing as well as the Foundation. The two places complete themslves. Do not hesitate to visit the whole Manrique production (Mirador del Rio, Jardin de cactus, Cuevas de los verdes, Jameo del agua...) Do not miss his tomb (right hand mausoleum when you enter) in the sweet little cemetery at the entrance of Haria !
