This place is great and fairly priced. It is close to Richards seafood which is excellent. The golf course was in good shape

I am a member and find the course to be a great pace to play.Views are fantastic. Staff is most accomodating and helpful.

We were on our way to a celidh and decided to stop at Stanhope Golf club for dinner, The fish and chips were not good at all. I would not recommend going there for dinner

Played here while staying near Charlottetown and chose this course due to proximity to Covehead Bay for views of the water. Found the fairways to be very fair, plenty of room to swing away. Some of the greens had seen some damage from the winter but all in all an enjoyable round. Played with a couple of members who provided local course knowledge which was nice. No real blind holes although found some of the par 4's played somewhat long.
Views of the Bay did not disappoint so an enjoyable day. Cost is reasonable, and perhaps a bit cheaper than some of the more popular courses.

Was having a good round in this pleasant, wide open course when approached by staff and asked to skip the next hole as several local members were behind us. No one was waiting to tee off because of our group and were were not slow - just not as fast as locals that likely play here daily. We had been playing best ball and ended up skipping a hole as requested. If you are going to open to the public you can't expect tourists to play at the same rate as local members. This poor treatment of guests went a long way to ruining an otherwise fine morning

I have been playing this since I first picked up a club amd it's still fun and challenging with great views. However, the latter could probably be said about every course on the north shore. Situated overlooking Covehead Bay the course ALWAYS has a breeze from one direction or another. The front nine starts with a forgiving par 4 and 5 then takes players through the woods and back to another par 5 on nine that offers the opportunity for a birdie or even an eagle for longer hitters especially if the wind is in your favour. Be aware that you also have red foxes resident in the woods and may have a ball stolen by one of the rascals.
The back nine starts with a par 3 then soon takes players down to the final 6 holes near the bayshore.13 is a par 3 island green and if the wind is in your face consider 2-3 clubs more than the distance normally requires. 14 is an long, uphill par 4: 15 is also long but the real trick here is the second shot-- take less club as the green slopes steeply down from front to back and you will likely also be hitting from an uphill Hole 16 requires either a long iron safe shot avoiding the pond or the always fun over the pond drive! Another par 5 and then we finish with a relaxing downhill par 4 with a beautiful view of the clunhouse and the bay in the background. No better view to finish with on a summer evening.
Rates are reasonable here and they sometimes offers 1 week memberships for a fair price - that alone merits 1 star. Staff are friendly and laid back and most players are members who live in the area for the summer so the course is well- respected and in good shape.

Every year we try get out to Prince Edward Island for a couple of golf games amongst the many beautiful courses the island has to offer. This year we played Stanhope and it did not disappoint! Great course to walk, nice scenery and friendly staff. Don't miss it!
PS - we stayed at Dalvey by the Sea, only 6 kilometres away and it's a great getaway package put on by Golf PEI.

Friendly and supportive pro shop helped get us fully outfitted quickly and spontaneously for great 9 holes. Course was busy enough but relaxed and had most fun golfing in a long time. Pleased to see that young players welcomed. Very reasonable course fees and rentals costs.

Really enjoyed the course. Very pretty, with a number of holes on the water. Challenging but fair. Nice wide fairways. In quite good shape. Not as well known as some of the destination courses, but definitely worth playing (and much easier on the wallet)

Friendly staff to greet us. A couple of nice views of the water. Overall the course was in average shape. A couple of greens were under repair. Fairways were ok. Course is long for the average female golfer. Good for a recreational round.
