Most unfriendly toward young families
1,0 dari 5 lingkaranFeb 2023
This area is most unfriendly toward families. The area for beginning skiers is a fair distance to the east from the lodge or any of the parking areas. Additionally, halfway between the lodge and the Magic Carpet is a snow fence barricade, beyond which non skiers are absolutely not allowed. With three youngsters, the youngest of which is a breastfeeding infant, one adult was to remain behind this barricade, beyond view of the rest of the family, for hours at a time. At one point the mother was needed to feed the baby. There is no cell reception close-by, and I could not see any of the family from behind barricade. So I walked beyond the barricade with the baby to watch for the mother. A gentleman came hurrying toward me yelling, stop! I explained I needed to find the mother. He said you can't cross the snow fence. I said, I need his mother, and kept walking. He kept getting in front of me yelling, Stop! Stopping, I asked to be directed to the manager or the owner. He said, I am the manager and the owner. Then he reached out and gave my left shoulder a push and said, You must go back! Thrown a little off balance, I staggeringly turned and walked away. I found a sheltered place near the snow fence to sit with the baby in the snow until a panicked mother came skiing to us from a distance away, leaving her toddlers behind. The understaffed mayhem-style ski school with bawling piles of abandoned children, also speaks to this resort's level of consideration for families. We will not use the ski school again. This area has potential. The terrain is ideal for family skiing. The beginner area is perfect for building individual confidence and independence. The huge downside is there is no accommodation for a family outdoor gathering place nearby within view. Non-skier family members have no viewing space to enjoy the time together nor be near at hand support crew for tiny ones nor be anywhere within view of the whole beginners area. It is a sorry lonely situation for the non-skiers to be shut away from the rest, the family split up and separated for much of the time. The skier part of the family is equally disadvantaged, missing the others and unsafely left without enough hands to manage the tiny skiers. It is a token gesture that children 12 +under ski for free, yet the price of an adult ticket for the one sent away with the infant is the same price as the one skiing. This resort's system for accommodating families needs to be wholly envisioned and built out. Here's hoping it happens sooner than later. And next time I'm accosted I'll quickly get to an area with cell reception and call 911.

Really enjoyed the hometown atmosphere. Bonus was the lack of skiers so we were able to jump on the lifts quickly. While they state you cannot bring food in, if you keep it in the downlow, not a problem.

If I could give zero stars, I would. However shout out to the younger girl who hands out the snowboards downstairs and the older gentleman who was the greeter, they were seriously the only good part of my trip.

Willamette Pass double charged me and is refusing to give it back, took $496 out of my account instead of $248!! Their customer service is a joke, when I tried to email to explain what happened they were nothing but snarky and I was basically told “tough luck.” It has been a long back and forth conversation of them being rude and now they won’t even answer my email! I’ve tried calling multiple times which gives no option to speak to somebody and I even talked to them at the resort before I emailed and was told the refund would “take a while, try again in two months” by the front ticket lady.

Since they now won’t even reply I had to open a fraudulent dispute with my bank. Not to mention while we were there every employee was down right rude (apart from two people we interacted with mentioned above) and acted like they hated their life or would rather be anywhere else. The lift operators were not attentive at all either and we saw a lot of “almost accidents” which we seriously so scary to see. This was my first and last time coming here. I’d sooo much rather spend more money traveling to Mt Bachelor then ever ever return here. At least there I know they have integrity as well as their customer’s safety as a priority.

It’s been over a week since I posted this same review on their google and Facebook. The owner appears to have ‘liked’ only the good recent comments, I’m still being blatantly ignored! This is outrageous. Out of all the money they made that day and they’re still refusing to just refund the extra $250 they charged me!

Okay, this resort is awesome in so many ways, however, if one were to compare it to a ski resort like Bachelor it would be the equivalent of comparing apples to oranges. Yes, both offer awesome skiing, but the comparisons stop there. If you want a beautiful lodge with sweeping views while skiing and hanging in the lodge, look no further. The available food is actually pretty good and there is a full bar with affordable drinks.

Even on a crowded day, if you are stuck parking at the furthest away spot, you are still really close to the lodge. There are awesome cross-country and snow-shoe trails off of the parking lot as well. Wifi is available in the lodge and you will never have to fight for a spot at a table. Most people set up camp at a table and feel very safe leaving their belongings unattended all day. There are always dogs and people hanging in the parking lot.

Tickets, lessons, and rentals are ridiculously inexpensive, so therefore, don't get upset that you can't reserve your lessons online or that they still use the old-fashioned manual carbon copy machine to take your credit card information. Also, your lesson might be reserved for 1pm, but it might not start right on time. However, the instructors are fabulous and both of my kids really learned how to ski here. Two-hour kids ski camp is included in the price of rentals but sometimes you have to remember to ask them about this.

If you go often, get the phone number of the instructor and text him/her in advance to let them know you are coming. The lift lines are never long and my husband says it's some of the best skiing he's ever done (and he has skied all over the place).

If you are driving in from far away, check out Willamette Pass Inn or Diamond Peak Cabins. You can also pay $10 to park your RV or van to sleep there overnight.

First time visiting Willamette Pass for some much needed fun in the snow! Although I was feeling a little under the weather, this resort made me forget all about it. I am still a beginner snowboarder so I did not try any of the advanced hills. I stuck it Duck Soup and had the time of my life. Fresh snow everywhere! We had a 2 year old with us who wanted to go faster and faster down the hill- I could barely keep up lol. The employees were patient, friendly and helpful as I am still trying to get the hand of getting off of a lift (I only fell a handful of times trying to get off). Will definitely return to Willamette Pass!

Please read all reviews in full to get an actual sense of what is going on at this resort. Many people will give a rating of 3, which is an average rating, when the resort has actually fallen well short of average expectations. There is no such thing as customer service at this resort in the normal sense of the word, period. If anything whatsoever happens while you are there, do not expect any consideration at all. I belong to an organization that has been going to Willamette Pass multiple times per year since the '60's. We've spent hundreds of thousands of dollars at the resort over that time period, thousands every year in lift passes alone. This year, we only contacted their group sales department a few days in advance, vs the full 5 days stipulated on their website. They absolutely refused our business as a result, forcing us to emergency divert dozens of customers to another ski resort. No option to pay more as a penalty, no warning, simply a solid "we can not accommodate your group with less than 5 days warning". All we require in general is a few dozen tickets to be printed, about 5 minutes of work, according to other resorts we frequent. If you read the reviews in full, you will find multiple instances of this type of behavior: The resort is unwilling to take minimal effort to resolve issues if it requires minimal effort on their part even if it will cost them tens or hundreds of thousands in revenue and unhappy customers. They simply couldn't care less.

I highly recommend this resort hotel. The owner and receptionist were both very welcoming and provided lots of information about the area. We stayed here for two nights while on a house-hunting trip and thoroughly enjoyed our room which had a wood burning fireplace, free snacks, and a nice coffee service. A market is right across the street if you want to buy food and cook it in your room. The owner and receptionist are both lovely women who we enjoyed talking to very much. So glad we found this gem.

Wow! What a gem of a ski hill. Went on a Sunday on mlk weekend, no crowds. Great snow on the backside. Fresh tracks till 2pm in the arvo, incredible tree runs out of bounds and in bounds and all for $52. If only Australia had places like this

I love the food and the bar.
I have never been to a ski area where the ski lift seats were not brushed off for skiers.
Today it was snowing and we were all sitting on ice and snow. Someone will slip off because they are slick.

Loved this place! Not super big, not overcrowded, can ski by the hour if you'd like! I've never seen that anywhere before. The food in the lodge wasn't overly priced and the runs were perfectly groomed! Highly recommend!
